Hello! I’m so glad you’re interested in coming to the co-op. In the two years I have been here, I have been so happy with the community and values that the Co-Op offers. The friendship among parents I have watched grow, as well as the friendships I have formed is incredible. I really hope you feel as welcome as I did when I came into this community!
My husband and I have been married for two wonderful years. We have two beautiful, wide eyed, enthusiastic boys! Ayden is 10 and Isaiah is 1. We have a border collie, australian shepherd named Levi as well. We love to spend our summers at my husbands family cottage on Black Lake, spending time with friends, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and enjoying all that Traverse City has to offer. Winters are a little more low key, but the boys do love to go sledding and snowboarding!
I’ve spent the last 7 years teaching preschool with students aged 3 through 5 years old. I went to Central Michigan University to get my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development with a minor in sign language. I also recieved my Masters degree from Grand Valley University in 2015 in Instruction and Curriculum and earned my ZA Endorsement.
One of my favorite parts of teaching preschool is the engagement that parents are able to have at this age. It’s so important for parents to be involved and for children to see the importance of school with their parents support. This is what really excites me about the setup for the co-op. My goal is to create a love for learning and for school in the lives of your children.
I have so many things that I love about teaching. Music, art, reading, outdoor activities, and exploration learning are some things that I really like to focus on. All children learn differently, so as I get to know your children you may notice things shift in the activities that I plan. Being age appropriate to their skill level, while also challenging them to advance their skill sets are very important to me.
I’m so excited you are looking at the Co-Op and I look forward to getting to know you and your child!
