Admissions Process
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is open!
Enrollment Status Chart is below for reference. [Updated Feb 20, 2025]
Step 1: Apply
Applications for enrollment can be found at the link below. When applying, please pay special attention to age requirements for each class.
Families are responsible for a $50 non-refundable application fee. Applications are not considered complete until this fee has been submitted. Only one fee per family is required. Fees can be paid via:
- Credit Card or ACH transactions can be made through your family portal on Jovial.
- PayPal: using the button below
- Check: Made out to Traverse City Cooperative Preschool
- Cash
Cash/check can be dropped off during school hours or checks can be mailed to: Traverse City Cooperative Preschool, 720 S. Elmwood St., Suite 1, Traverse City, MI 49684
Partial tuition scholarships may be available to families who need them due to financial circumstances. Please inquire if you’d like more information.
If you’d like more information before submitting an application, we encourage you to attend an open house or reach out to our Admissions Coordinator to schedule a tour. You can also submit questions to Admissions via email at: coop.admissions@gmail.com
Step 2: Acceptance & Wait Pool
Once your application has been submitted, you can expect to hear from our Admissions Coordinator within approximately one week. If space is available in your desired class, you will be required to pay the initial tuition payment, along with a one-time materials fee and cleaning fee by July 1. If this payment is not received by July 1, your child will be removed from the class roster and you will need to reapply if still wishing to enroll.
Accepted families will receive additional information regarding Parent Orientation (required) and Meet-the-Teacher events via email and/or mail throughout the summer months. Please be sure you update us with any changes to your contact information.
Wait Pool:
When applications for enrollment exceed class capacity, students will be placed in a wait pool. Please note this is a wait pool (as contrasted with a wait list). Students will not be offered enrollment on a “first come, first served” basis. Students will be offered enrollment as a space becomes available based on the following priority hierarchy:
- Children of staff and current board members
- Children of current and returning TCCP families
- New applicants
Wait pools are maintained for each class on a yearly basis. Please do not submit an application for your child until they meet the age requirement of your class of interest. If you’d like to know how big the wait pool is prior to submitting an application, please reach out to our Admissions Coordinator.
If your child is placed in a wait pool and a spot becomes available, we will reach out via email to offer the spot and move forward in the admissions process.
*Mid-Year Enrollment:
Families may continue to apply to the co-op throughout the given school year. The application/wait pool process will remain the same. If accepted, deadlines for tuition payment and enrollment paperwork will be identified. A pre-conference with the teacher will also be scheduled and a video recording of parent orientation provided for review.
